The historic building of the Jefferson Market Library branch was originally a courthouse, designed by Frederick Clark Withers and Calvert Vaux in the 1800’s. In 1961 it was saved from demolition and became a library. Today, the clock tower is a Greenwich Village icon. To view the Dragons and Magic exhibition, go to the second floor adult reading room by elevator, or, take the spiral castle-like staircase with stained glass windows. A child-friendly version of the exhibit with copies is on display in the children’s room located on the main floor.
On view through Oct. 29, 2010.
